The wall just went up
The wall just went up.
Jamie Dimon told Wall Street last week: outside AI agents don't get inside JPMorgan. Period.
Not to check your balance — read-only, fine. But to move your money? Pay your bill? Act as you? No.
His reason is the one nobody in tech wants to say out loud: rogue agents. Thousands of them. And if you hand yours the keys, the liability is yours.
Meanwhile JPMorgan is building its own agent — Smart Cash, in pilot — to move your cash to higher yield automatically.
Read that twice.
The biggest bank in America just said: We'll build the agent. You don't get to bring yours.
That's not anti-AI. That's governance as market power. Whoever controls the guardrails controls the customer.
And here's the kicker from the same call: JPMorgan's own CFO admitted AI benefits are not yet observable in quarterly earnings.
So the bank that spends ~$700M a year on AI just told you two things at once:
1. The payoff isn't in the numbers yet.
2. But the gate is already closed.
Don't retire. Rewire. — because the rewiring is happening whether you build the gate or someone builds it for you.
